Using key recordings as route markers, we cycle out through 35 years of Ashley's career.
The story begins in London's Fortis Green as The Ethnic Shuffle Orchestra evolve into Fairport Convention - and comes up-to-date,
thirty-six years later, when Ashley's in Derbyshire, still hatching plans and bands, recently including The Cecil Sharp Centenary
Collective , The Albion Christmas Band , The 'Great-Grandson of Morris On' Band and Rainbow Chasers.
Along the way, we encounter the three most influential (and most variously-populated) folk rock bands in the world!!
Guests on this CD - which largely features previously-unreleased live, session and broadcast performances - include 'the
usual suspects ' ? Fairports down the years, various Steeleyes , and a wealth of Albions - plus choice tracks from the
All-Stars , Judy Dunlop & Barry Coope , new music from Rainbow Chasers ? and Prof Lacey and Friends .
Mr Hutchings intercedes at various junctures with words and songs to progress the tale.
